The government has recently updated the terms of renewing your passport. Previously if a passport had for example, 6 months remaining, these 6 months would be transferred over to the new passport. This is now no longer the case, and you would now forfeit any remaining eligibility on your previous passport.
Certainly something to consider for next time your passport is almost up for renewal!
Queuing to have our bags scanned on arrival at an airport was a new experience for both. It wasn’t just any queue either; it was disorganised, hot and long. But for once we didn’t care, this was our first time in Africa and we’d just arrived in the Gambia!
As I was already travelling in Chile, this trip started with a 3-hour flight from Santiago to La Paz with LATAM, possibly my favourite South-American airline. My friend and I landed into La Paz around 10am, however I almost fainted on arrival due to the altitude change!
My journey started by using the direct service from London Heathrow to Kenya using Kenya Airlines, they use the 787 Dreamliners which are very comfortable and the attendants on-board were all eager to please.
When I arrived at the Airport to find Georgina from Gold Medal carrying a rucksack with “Sheila’s on Tour” emblazoned across it, I knew this would be a memorable trip, and it was for so many reasons.

A couple of weeks ago I would have said Iceland was somewhere people went to see the Northern Lights in the winter, and that group tours were designed either for elderly people or backpackers. Last week I was fortunate enough to be invited on a trip around Iceland by Intrepid Travel, which I’m delighted to say, put my naïve misconceived ideas to an end.
A little over a week ago I returned from an incredible 15 days away where I visited Egypt, Jordan & Israel – three countries I’ve had on my Bucket List for ages – and it certainly didn’t disappoint!
