St James Club Resort & Villas is tucked away on a secluded 100-acre peninsula on the southeastern coast of Antigua. This exclusive hideaway has a club like atmosphere and caters to couples, families and singles with plenty of amenities and activities. St James Club continually gets excellent reviews. It is very well run by Elite Island Resorts which has a portfolio of 4 & 5 star hotels.

Location

St James Club is at the south end of Antigua in Mamora Bay, about 30 minutes transfer.

Accommodation

St. James offers a wide range of guestrooms and suites each with individually controlled air conditioning, ceiling fans, cable TV, bath with shower and tub, a hair dryer, an in-room safe and direct-dial phones.

 

Club Water view – garden views, tropically decorated hotel-style accommodations with dark wood furnishings, terracotta floors and a private balcony or terrace.

 

Premium Water view – Located on the ground or upper floor, one king bed or two double beds, private terrace or balcony with partial oceanview and garden view.

 

Beachfront – direct access to the beach, tropically decorated over-sized hotel-style accommodations with dark wood furnishing, terra-cotta floors and a private balcony or terrace.

 

Royal Suites – feature spectacular waterfront views of tranquil Mamora Bay and two new pools. Each Royal Suite offers sunken living room with marbled top wet bar, floor-to-ceiling windows, private furnished balcony, expansive bathroom with his-and-hers showers and deep-soaking tub. These spacious suites measure 568 sq. ft. and exude a Caribbean-style decor with striking island furnishings and art, king size bed and sofa, 37-inch HD flat-screen TV, iPod docking stations, DVD players and internet access.

 

2 Bedroom Villas – 1,600 square-foot with two bedrooms. The master suite features a king bed and a private bath with a shower and a deep soaking tub. The second bedroom offers two twin beds and a private bath.

Restaurants and Bars

St. James guests refuel at four distinctly different restaurants, among them The Docksider, known as much for its panoramic water views and charming nautical decor as its Caribbean-inspired dishes. Those who wish to dine in a more tranquil setting do so the resorts signature fine dining restaurant, Piccolo Mondo.

 

Rainbow Garden – breakfast, lunch and some dinners are served at Rainbow Garden, an airy and spacious dining room, surrounded by a wraparound patio and fringed by greenery. The Monday evening International Buffet is a guest favourite.

 

Coco Beach Restaurant & Bar – Casual dining & offers sea views and a selection of salads, soups, burgers and pastas.

 

The Docksider Grill – boasts a stunning view of Mamora Bay and charming nautical decor. It specializes in Caribbean-inspired dishes with freshly caught fish. Thursdays are Caribbean Night, with a buffet showcasing specialties from around the region as well as steel band music, limbo, fire-eating and other entertainment.

 

Piccolo Mondo – Sweeping views and Italian cuisine with an elegant Caribbean twist are the draw at Piccolo Mondo. Its diverse menu features special items such as veal scaloppini Milanese and grilled catch of the day on saffron risotto. The restaurants striking hillside setting and romantic ambience is perfect for an intimate, relaxing dining experience.

 

Lounges & Bars – St. James Club & Villas has four lounges and bars: The Reef Deck Bar, Coco Beach Bar Mamora Bay Bar and Jacaranda Lounge.
