Restaurants & Bars

At eleven world class restaurants, a global team of master chefs caters to your endless culinary cravings. From the fiery island dishes of Eleanor’s and the stir-fry drama of an Emperors Feast, to the heart-warming Italian cuisine of Mario’s, passions of the palate are served to absolute perfection. And whether you like it spicy, tangy, zesty or sweet… in stunning settings that are on-the-beach casual or white-gloved chic, Sandals Grande Antigua has your mood-of-the-moment covered.

Bayside Restaurant

The Bayside Restaurant represents the culinary diversity of an equally diverse locale. With flavoursome Caribbean cuisine, guests from near and far can enjoy Bayside by day for buffet-style breakfast and lunch; and bask in its enchanting essence with dining by night for an exquisite a la carte dinner. Indoors or on the terrace, romance abounds. Dine beneath the stars, indulge in candlelit dinners, or gaze out onto a seemingly endless blue waterscape while welcoming over the cool, sea breeze.

Mario’s

Italian gastronomy is made up of 21 diverse regional cuisines. Mario’s draws its cooking style from the beautiful region of Lombardia, where E.A.Mario, grandfather to the restaurant’s first authentic Italian chef, was born to a family of humble means. Growing up in a family of six in a small apartment behind his father’s barbershop, everyone in his family needed to pull their weight to get by. Mario was in charge of preparing dinner and his delicious dishes would bring his whole family together every night. Mario instilled that same sense of passion for his love of food and family into his children and grandchildren. That is why guests today feel and taste that same passion in the tantalising cuisine of Mario’s restaurant. With dishes inspired by Mario’s hometown of Milano, guests can find some of the most authentic Italian food in the world here. Everyone who steps foot in this inviting trattoria will enjoy a little bit of Italy in the Caribbean with Mario’s old-world decor and authentic, Italian recipes.

Eleanor’s

Representing the best in the rich, flavorful fare that the Caribbean is known for, guests also come to Eleanor’s to relax and enjoy the beauty of the ocean vistas. However, the best of Eleanor’s is found in the unique dishes and culinary touches the chefs employ here. Eleanor’s is named after 18th century Scottish noblewoman, Lady Eleanor MacDougal, who sailed to the Caribbean in search of a new life after a fall from grace in her homeland. Eleanor first landed in Antigua and slowly made her way through the Caribbean islands, picking up work as a cook and seamstress as she moved from place to place. Along the way, she wrote down the recipes she learned from local cooks in her journal. Eventually, she made her way to Jamaica, where she caught the eye of a local sugar cane plantation owner who courted and eventually married her.

Barefoot By The Sea

The sandy pathways of Barefoot by the Sea add to the ambiance of this charming seaside restaurant. Located along Antigua’s famed Dickenson Bay, Barefoot is one of the few establishments you can actually show up barefoot, digging your toes into the fluffy, white sand while enjoying delectable seafood. With the sparkling sea just steps away and spectacular vistas of the bay, cool sea breezes abound. The cuisine here is just as enticing as the charming, Caribbean vibe, presenting distinctive seafood recipes and Antiguan favourites full of savoury fervour. Antiguan Crab Cake, Beef & Shrimp, Seafood Pasta, and Caribbean Lobster Thermidor (sauteed chunks of lobster tail with cream sauce, broiled with cheese and served with mashed potatoes and vegetables), are just a few of the tantalising options that grace Barefoots palatable menu.

Kimonos

Follow the tantalising aroma of exotic spices and perfectly grilled delights to the majestic extravagance of Kimonos, a vibrant, two-story restaurant tucked into the side of a cliff restaurant that serves up the exotic cuisines of the Far East in a most interactive and impressive way. The mid-1940 Teppanyaki cooking style used here is one indication to guests that they are in for a truly memorable experience. With dim lighting, red accents, and Asian-inspired mahogany-framed windows modelled after the fascinating Shoji sliding screens of East Asia, the decor of Kimonos is ever so slightly exotic and mysterious, yet comforting at the same time. Despite the lively atmosphere, there is also a Zen quality that seems to thrive in the midst of it all, as the uncluttered area and undressed walls maintain an open, flowing sensibility. Kimonos boasts mouthwatering cuisine prepared by skilful chefs who entertain with tricks while cooking on an iron, flat surface grill, as guests await their exotic fare.

OK Coral

In the heart of Antigua stands an octagonal, Tex-Mex restaurant serving up the best in down home comfort foods, panoramic views of the Caribbean Sea, and true Southern hospitality. The scenery here is so inspirational that guests are encouraged to sit back and stay a while… to take in the ambiance of this laid-back eatery and perhaps enjoy a tropical drink or two. OK Corral is most known for its happy-go-lucky environment and southern-style recipes. Those who’ve tasted the cuisine of OK Corral, and seen the cacti and desert landscapes hand-painted on the walls, find this restaurant to be a true expression of the the American Southwest.

Soy

There’s nothing quite like the dining experience at Soy Sushi Bar, a quaint restaurant tucked behind bamboo fronds and adorned with unique Oriental decor, dim lighting, and fresh, delectable sushi. Giving guests a taste of the Far East with traditional and contemporary sushi creations, Soy is named after soy sauce, a customary ingredient in the art of sushi. This remarkable sushi house offers exciting flavors and exotic sushi creations made-to-order, and chefs skilfully prepare sushi using only the freshest ingredients. Guests can enjoy a nightcap or pre-dinner cocktail while discovering the great ambiance with stone statues, pendant lighting, and mahogany furniture. When it comes to sushi, Soy has plenty of answers.

Courtyard Bistro

Bask in the warmth of the sun and sea at this courtyard eatery, a laid-back bistro. Relax and enjoy the tranquillity of the nearby waves embracing the seashore and the romantic promenade setting. The bustling Courtyard Bistro accentuates Antigua’s lush surroundings as guests from all over come to take pleasure in the full-of-life charm and savoury favourites offered by this enchanting bistro. The breathtaking foliage and beautiful beach are just steps away and only add to the abundant variety of flavors offered here.

Bella Napoli

Whether a made up recipe or a selection from the menu, a whole lot of thinking goes into deciding which delectable pizza combination will be the best choice. Nothing says comfort food better than a warm slice of brick-oven pizza made fresh with mozzarella, homemade tomato sauce, and tasty toppings. Bella Napoli hits the spot anytime of day or night with oven-baked bread and choice toppings including, Gorgonzola, pear, Brie, prosciutto, sausage, artichokes, seafood and even ripe banana and dark chocolate toppings for the savoury dessert pizza.

Cafe De Paris

Antigua has always been known for its 365 beaches and romantic settings. Now, Café de Paris is helping to make it known for fine, Parisian treats. When the café concept was first introduced in Paris in the 17th century, people fell in love with the neighborhood feel of the café, which over the years became a place to relax. The same semblance is found at Café de Paris, the social pulse of Dickenson Bay. Flowers, bright colors, and lovely patio furniture with umbrellas adorn the outside of the café. But the chic decor and romantic ambience aren’t the only things to savor at this superb cafe.

Drunken Duck

For more than 300 years, pubs have provided a carefree ambience and comfort to those who wanted to relax with good ale and a good joke after a hard day’s work. Pubs are most certainly fundamental to British culture. Samuel Pepys, famous for his detailed 17th century writings, even described pubs as the ‘heart of England.’ The Drunken Duck Pub serves the same purpose as those time-honoured public houses of yesteryear, where people gathered together to enjoy life and a cold one in a vibrant atmosphere. A delightful encounter full of good times and customary pub fare awaits pub-goers who seek the welcoming experience of a traditional, British pub.
