Full Itinerary
Day 1 Daily Heathrow Nairobi
Fly from Heathrow overnight to Nairobi.
Day 2 Nairobi
Transfer to your hotel for a day at leisure or choose from a selection of optional excursions. Overnight: Nairobi Serena Hotel.
Day 3 Samburu
After an early breakfast fly to the Samburu National Reserve (approximately 1 hour) and enjoy lunch at your lodge before a late afternoon game drive. Overnight: Samburu Intrepids. (B,L,D)
Day 4 Samburu
Early morning and late afternoon game drives. Overnight: Samburu Intrepids. (B, L, D)
Day 5 Lake Naivasha
After breakfast fly to Wilson airport (approximately 1 hour 10 minutes). Enjoy a picnic lunch. Fly to Naivasha Loldia airstrip, Lake Naivasha (approximately 20 minutes) and transfer to your lodge. Overnight: Great Rift Valley Lodge and Golf Resort. (B, L, D)
Day 6 Lake Naivasha
Following breakfast, enjoy a half-day trip to Lake Nakuru National Park. The afternoon is spent at leisure to enjoy the optional activities at the lodge, including boating and fishing on Lake Naivasha, tennis, a driving range and an 18-hole golf course (book and pay locally). Overnight: Great Rift Valley Lodge and Golf Resort. (B, L, D)
Day 7 Masai Mara
This morning enjoy a boat trip on Lake Naivasha. After lunch transfer to the airstrip for a light aircraft flight to the Masai Mara (approximately 40 minutes). On arrival enjoy an afternoon game drive. Overnight: Mara Intrepids. (B, L, D)
Day 8 Masai Mara
Enjoy an early morning game drive followed by breakfast, or an early morning balloon flight over the Mara followed by a “bubbly bush” breakfast (optional extra). Late afternoon game drive. Overnight: Mara Intrepids. (B, L, D)
Day 9 Extension or Heathrow
Fly by light aircraft in the morning to Nairobi (approximately 1 hour) or on the afternoon flight, including lunch in the Mara £110. Proceed with your chosen extension (see “where next”) or return to Heathrow. (B)
Alternatively, fly directly from the Mara to Mombasa.
Extensions
Complement your Kili Safari with a beach stay on the Kenya Coast, Zanzibar, Seychelles or Mauritius. Gorilla trekking in Rwanda or Uganda is a superb addition to a safari.
Lodge Information
Samburu: Samburu Intrepids – A luxurious tented camp perched on the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River in Samburu. Facilities include a riverfront dining deck, bush breakfasts and dinners, romantic sundowners and open-air lounge area. Leisure facilities include swimming pool with sunbathing terrace, star gazing, camel and walking safaris. Each of the 30 modern tents has an en suite bathroom.
Lake Naivasha: Great Rift Valley Lodge & Golf Resort – The lodge, built around an 18-hole golf course, offers spectacular views. It is perched on the panoramic shoulder of the Eburu escarpment, overlooking the sparkling waters of Lake Naivasha. Facilities include dining on the clubhouse terraces, two bars, a lounge and bush breakfasts and sundowners. Leisure facilities include a swimming pool, tennis court and bush walks. The 30 lodge rooms have en suite bathrooms. (The resort also features 40 three-tier three-bedroomed villas).
Masai Mara: Mara Intrepids – Just a short drive from the Mara River and sitting above a sweeping bend in the Talek River, the camp enjoys one of the most spectacular locations in the Masai Mara. Leisure facilities include a freeform swimming pool with sunbathing terrace, and star gazing with a resident expert guide. 30 elegant tents with modern en suite bathrooms are spread over the riverside site.

Mara Ballooning Option
An exciting alternative to your morning game drive. Up before dawn and drive to the balloon launch site. After the balloon is inflated, climb aboard and sail away on an exhilarating flight for about an hour. A “bubbly” breakfast with all the trimmings is served where you touchdown.
Family fun safari
Families enjoy very special holidays at Intrepids safari lodges and camps.
Kids and teens safari clubs are available, offering educational programmes for children of all ages, run by highly trained children’s guides. Each property has a fully equipped Adventure Centre, with interactive displays on local animals and habitats and on local communities and their cultures.
The Adventurers’ Club offers all children between the ages of 4 and 11 a unique close encounter with the African wilderness. There are a wide variety of activities that are fun and hands-on, including planting trees, casting plaster tracks of animal spoor, and building a Masai homestead and village.
The Young Rangers Club is for children aged 12 – 17 wishing to experience the African wilderness and learn from qualified guides. It offers special game drives, bush walks and cultural experiences. The clubs provide amazing opportunities for children of all ages to experience nature whilst being in the care of staff with specialist training.
