Melia Marina
The Melia Marina Varadero opened in 2013 and is located in an ecological reserve at the end of the Hicacos Peninsula.
The hotel offers extensive facilities including a large lagoon style swimming pool and access to the promenade and Marina Gaviota. The contemporary design and atmosphere makes references to the world of sailing and the sea.
Our Opinion
This is a newly built resort that is getting superb reviews. We would not call this a luxury 5-star but it is officially a 5-star property and is definitely worth a look.

Melia Marina Varadero is located in Veradero at the Marina Gaviota.
Accommodation
Melia Marina Varadero has 549 modern rooms distributed in the hotel and in the West Condo Vistamares building with different types of apartments and different capacities.
The hotel provides 423 rooms and suites, and the condo area provides 126 fully equipped apartments. The rooms are beautifully decorated and the majority have pretty views of the marina. The decor is inspired by the sea, accentuating the Cuban atmosphere and tropical surroundings.
Rooms have air-conditioning, king size bed or twin beds, satellite LCD TV, electronic safe, Minibar, kettle with coffee, iron and ironing board, and a bathroom with bath and shower, hairdryer, scales, make-up mirror.
Standard – with a lovely view of the pool, these are located from the ground floor to fifth floor.

The Level Standard – located in the hotel’s privileged area, with a wonderful view of the pool.
The Level Standard rooms are located on the fifth and sixth floors and have exclusive facilities, superb personalised service and complete privacy.

The Level Suite – these have views of the pool and are located on the sixth floor.
These measure 85m2 with a lounge-dining room, a bedroom and two bathrooms.

Restaurants and Bars
El Pilar is the main buffet restaurant with outdoor terraces and views of the marina. There is a wide variety of international cuisine.
Don Ernesto is a Latin restaurant mixed with African decor and wooden features.
It offers an a la carte Latin dinner service.
Don Peperoni is an Italian restaurant and offers an a la carte dinner service.
Cada Burguette is sophisticated and elegant with a contemporary style and vintage glamour. This French restaurant offers an a la carte dinner service.
Bana offers Japanese and East Asia cuisine and offers a la carte dinner service.
El Pescador is located on the beach with an open lounge, pergolas and terraces, and connected to the hotel via an elevated walkway, El Pescador is a beach grill – barbecue with beautiful views of the sea and decorated with beach and marine motifs.
Habana is a pool snack bar is located outdoors in the main pool area. It has a lounge, pergolas and terraces and decorated in a contemporary and modern style, with marine elements. It offers breakfast, lunch and snack services, 24 hours a day.
La Vigia is exclusive to The Level guests and is located on the top floor of the hotel offering spectacular panoramic views of the sea, the peninsula and the marina. The VIP La Vigia bar lounge offers snack and tea time services, a la carte breakfast (7:30am to 10:30am), lunch (1am to 3pm) and dinner (6:30pm to 10:30pm). It offers different seating options for meals, and lounge, bar and terraces on both sides of the large glass panels surrounding the premises. It has a lounge, TV area and terraces.
Fiesta is a lobby bar and piano bar (at night). Fiesta offers snacks and drinks 24 hours a day.
Cojimar is located opposite the promenade, the outdoor Cojimar bar offers drinks from the afternoon until after dinner.
El Mojito is a pool bar, located in the hotel’s main pool area, serves drinks and Cuban and international cocktails at its tables on the terrace when the pool is open.
Las Brisas is located in the beach area, near the beach grill, Las Brisas beach bar offers drinks and Cuban and international cocktails when the beach is open.
Vuelta Abajo specialised in drinks and coffee to accompany the enjoyment and smoking of Havana cigars, in a quiet, friendly and elegant atmosphere, the Vuelta Abajo cigar bar provides a humidifier.
Diaquiri is a rum bar, serving Cuban and international drinks, is characterised by its unique Cuban atmosphere.
Tierra Espanola is a wine and tapas bar.
