Japan Cherry Blossom Tour


One of our favourites and one that should definitely be on everyones bucket list! A 13 day tour that explores the very best of Japans cultural and scenic locations, during the renowned cherry blossom season.  Travel on the famous bullet train and stay in traditional accommodation. Sample some of the local specialities, gaze at Mount Fuji, spend time in the old city of Kyoto and visit two beautiful national parks.

Full Itinerary

Day 1 Fly to Tokyo
Fly from London Heathrow to Tokyo.

Day 2 Arrive Tokyo
Upon arrival at Narita Haneda airport, you will be welcomed by our representative and transferred to your hotel.

Day 3 Tokyo Sightseeing
After breakfast, enjoy a sightseeing tour of Tokyo. Visit Tsukiji Market, Asakusa Kannon Temple and Nakamise Shopping Street. There will be a photo opportunity at the Imperial Palace, a stroll around Koishikawa Korakuen and a trip to the Tokyo Tower. Breakfast included.

Day 4 Tokyo to Hakone to Fuji 
Depart for Hakone by coach. Enjoy a short cruise on Lake Ashi and continue to the Owakudani Ropeway.  Visit the Peace Park for views of Mount Fuji and stay at Ryokan, a traditional Japanese accommodation. Breakfast and dinner included.

Day 5 Fuji to Takayama
Start your trip to Mt. Fuji. Visit the Visitor Centre and Oshino Hakkai Village, and proceed to Takayama for an overnight stay, pausing for a lunch break en-route. Breakfast and dinner included.

Day 6 Takayama
Enjoy a full day tour in Takayama including visits to Takayama-Jinya, Matsuri no Mori, Kamisannomachi Street and the Folk Craft Museum.  Overnight stay in Takayama. Breakfast and dinner included.

Day 7 Takayama to Shirakawago to Kanazawa
Travel to the World Heritage listed Shirakawago, and continue to Kanazawa to visit some Samurai houses, the Kenrokuen Garden and Kanazawa 21st Century Museum.  Overnight stay in Kanazawa. Breakfast included.

Day 8 Kanazawa to Kyoto
Morning departure from Kanazawa for Kyoto, Japan’s ancient capital.  The first stop will be at the Kiyomizu-dera Temple, followed by a visit to Gion.  At the end of the day, you will check into your hotel. Breakfast included.

Day 9 Kyoto and Nara Day tour
Leave the hotel for a sightseeing tour of Kyoto and Nara. Visit Todai-ji Temple, the Daibutsuden, and Nara Deer park before returning to Kyoto. Enjoy a trip to the celebrated Kinkaku-ji Temple and enjoy a Kimono show at the Nishijin Textile Centre. Breakfast included.

Day 10 Kyoto to Hiroshima
Your main luggage will be transferred from Kyoto to Osaka. Pack a small bag for your stay in Hiroshima. Breakfast included.

Explore the Japanese Garden at the Heian Jingu Shrine, Nijo Castle and catch the bullet train to Hiroshima for a visit the Peace Memorial Park and the Genbaku-dome. Check into your hotel.

Day 11 Hiroshima to Miyajima to Osaka
Enjoy a sightseeing tour of Miyajima with a ferry ride, visiting the Itsukushima Shrine. After lunch, transfer to Osaka by bullet train. On Arrival, visit Osaka Castle and the Shinsaibashi area.  Check into your hotel. Breakfast included.

Day 12 Osaka to Himeji and Kobe to Osaka
After breakfast at the hotel, leave for Himeji Castle, and after lunch transfer to Kobe. Next you will enjoy shopping in Kobe China Town, visit a Sake Brewery in Nada the District.  Return to your hotel in Osaka. Breakfast included.

Day 13 Fly back to UK
Transfer to the airport for the flight to UK. Breakfast included.
