Our Opinion

This is a lovely hotel and highly recommended. It’s not a 5-star but its not too far off due to it’s all around excellence. It is also incredibly good value.

Location

Heritance Ahungalla is located in the the small fishing town of Ahungalla. Both it and its neighbour Ambalangoda both boast idyllic palm-fringed fine golden sand beaches lapped by warm, aquamarine waters. Transfers from the airport take approximately 3 ½ hours

Accommodation

Heritance Ahungalla has 152 beautiful rooms each with air-conditioning & ceiling fan, coffee/tea facilities, TV, minibar, bath or shower, balcony/terrace and partial sea views.

Room types:

Standard Room 25sqm are sea-facing with partial sea views
Deluxe Premier – have ocean views
Luxury Room 40sqm – are larger with a living area and a bath in the bathroom
Suites 55sqm – larger rooms with a living area, a larger balcony and additional luxuruious amenities.

Restaurants & Bars

Jute – the main restaurant of the hotel with a spectacular view of the beach and ocean. The Jute offers a comprehensive buffet with Eastern, Western and international food.
Mustard Coffee Shop – located next to the main lounge and swimming pool, is open 24 hours a day. You can enjoy food from the A La Carte menu in the fresh air. This restaurant also offers our comprehensive wine list.
Upper Room Fine Dining Restaurant – this is the fine dining experience par excellence of Ahungalla & enjoy exclusive beverages or a selection fromt the comprehensive wine list with your dinner.

The Heritance Ahungalla has five bars where you can relax and enjoy a drink. The Apollo, offers local and international brands, as well as a coffee and cigar menu.
