Our Opinion
Thudufushi, like its sister island Athuruga, is a very desirable and sought after island. Thudufushi has an excellent all inclusive plan, a superb house reef with exception diving opportunities all wrapped in a lovely natural island. It makes a great twin centre with Athuruga if you are staying 14 nights. Although the price advertised may often be the Gardenview room, it’s recommended you upgrade to the Beach Villa.
Location
Located on the south-western rim of Ari Atoll, just a 35-minute seaplane flight south of Male� International Airport, the resort is secluded and tranquil, providing optimum privacy in unspoilt surroundings.
Accommodation
Thudufushi has 47 cottage style bungalows scattered around the island. Each has airconditioning, ceiling fan, sitting area, ipod docking station, minibar, tea and coffee making facilities and open-air bathroom.
Room types:
Gardenview Rooms – there are 2 of these are on the lower level of a two story building in the island’s interior.
Beach Bungalows – face the pristine water with direct access to the beach, each with a private deck veranda with armchairs, coffee table and sun beds, all rooms also have open air showers.
Water Villas – The island’s 25 water villas host a private large terrace with direct access to the water. The tasteful furnishings in the villas ample living space include custom made rattan furniture, Italian contemporary lighting and handmade inlaid wooden parquet floors which make a setting where guests can realize their fantasy of living life to the fullest, while on holiday. Water Villa guests also have the Water Villa Restaurant.
Restaurants & Bars
Main Restaurant – Located on the island offers American breakfast buffet, buffet lunch and for dinner a fusion of Italian, Asian, Oriental and Maldivian cuisines with theme nights buffet and fish barbecue. Lobsters and prawns menus are available at charge for private dinners on the beach.
Water Villas Restaurant – The restaurant offer International and Italian cuisine with selection of fresh seafood and fish. Diet/vegetarian dishes are available on request. Serving soft drinks, water, house wine, local beer, tea & coffee. Dining at the restaurant is included for the Water Villas guests while for the Beach Bungalows guests it is with supplement and upon reservation.
Main Bar – Located on the island serves a large selection of cocktails, liquors, beer, wine, fresh juice and soft drinks. Champagne and premium spirits are available at charge.
Water Villas Bar (located along the pier) – Serves a large selection of cocktails, liquors, beer, wine, fresh juice and soft drinks in a comfortable open over water deck. Champagne and premium spirits are available at charge.
Beach Bar – Located on the beach, the beach bar is the perfect place where to enjoy a late breakfast or and afternoon snack as well as enjoying a variety of tea’s, coffee’s, soft drinks, fresh juices, cocktails, beer, wine and liquor.
