Our Opinion

There are many “mega” resorts along the Riviera Maya, this is a relatively small resort with just over 300 rooms. It gets superb reviews and has just been renovated so it is one of those resorts that just gets better and better.

Location

Akumal Bay Resort is located on the beach overlooking Akumal Bay. It is a a short walk along the beach to the laid back Mayan Riviera town of Akumal. 37 km from Playa del Carmen and 27km from Tulum.

Accommodation

Room Types:

Junior suites on the middle floors (3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children) have one king-size or two twin beds.

Garden Junior Suites on the ground floor facing the sea with a large terrace with whirlpool bath.

Penthouse Junior Suites (two adults) are two storey with stairs to a private rooftop terrace with whirlpool bath and ocean views. These are adult only.
